OAKLAND (KRON) — Authorities found multiple weapons in the home of a teen who was arrested in connection with an AC Transit bus robbery. Tyheir Bolden, 18, was detained after authorities served a search warrant at a residence on 20th Street, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search, deputies found multiple firearms including assault rifles.
Authorities say Bolden has a long history of robbery and is suspected in other crimes.
Other items found by deputies include:
- M16-A1 fully automatic assault rifle
- AR-10 .308 semi-automatic assault rifle, with no markings or serial numbers
- Sig Sauer P226R 9mm, stolen
- Smith and Wesson .22LR semi-auto pistol, stolen
- 1 drum magazine with a 90 round capacity and multiple high capacity magazines for the AR-10
- Soft body armor (bullet proof vest)
“It’s a big deal to get these things off the street,” Alameda County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly said. “This guy had an insane amount of firepower.”
Kelly said the weapons Bolden and others get possession of are the reason law enforcement officials have been seeking what some say are military-style weapons and equipment, including bulletproof vehicles and
The teen was arrested for eleven weapons-related felonies and taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Some of the bullets Bolden possessed could go through multiple people, concrete or any cover deputies would take, Kelly said.
Law enforcement officials earlier this month held their annual Urban Shield first responder training exercise event in Pleasanton, where hundreds of people protested the use of military-style weapons and equipment by law enforcement.
