March 23, 2017 At 2:45 am, in the city of Balakliya, in the eastern region of Kharkiv, a Ukrainian Ministry of Defence artillery warehouses caught fire.
Two women were injured, there were no casualties. The main operating theory is sabotage.
The Minister of Defence, Stepan Poltorak, voiced several options as to how the sabotage could have been carried out as well as two individuals who could have done it.
An evacuation zone of 10 kilometers has been instated. A no-fly zone has been set up in the 40 kilometer radius around the fire.
Balakliya is 95 kilometers from Kharkiv. About 20 thousand people were evacuated.
The evacuated are being accommodated in educational and social protection institutions in the district.
The victims will receive material assistance.
